Global Chums Exeter - Become a Mentor September 2023

We welcome applications from any student who would like to be a Global Chums mentor (volunteer post), but especially welcome applications from international and EU students, as well as those returning from Study Abroad themselves.

If you would like to be considered as a Chum Mentor, it is essential that you are committed to the whole 6 week programme (starting week 1, 25 September 2023). This means you should:

  • Complete peer mentor training
  • Email your Chum and reply to their emails and questions
  • Join the Global Chums Exeter Facebook Group
  • Attend the ‘Meet Your Mentor’ event in week 1 and ongoing social events throughout term 1 - the scheme is only ever as successful as its mentors!
  • Respond to the Global Chums Exit Questionnaire

Global Chums Coordinator Post (Paid)

The International Student Support Team at the university have an opportunity for a new intern to join them as a Global Chums Coordinator. Your role will involve supporting with administration, matching new international students with mentors, and arranging social events (in person and online).
 
This role is part of the Student Campus Partnership (SCP) scheme and offers 120 hours of work in total between August 2023- April 2024 with a flexible working pattern around your studies. There is the option to work remotely with access to offices on Streatham Campus in Exeter.
