Why book a wellbeing appointment

You can ask for a wellbeing appointment to talk to someone about anything that is affecting your wellbeing, enjoyment of university, or ability to study.

You might be:

  • Feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed
  • Finding university life difficult to manage
  • Struggling to balance your studies with everyday life
  • Finding it hard to settle in or make friends
  • Experiencing relationship difficulties
  • Living with a mental health condition such as depression or an eating disorder

You do not need to be in crisis to ask for support. The Wellbeing Team will listen and help you explore your options.

Frequently asked questions

We will tell you in your appointment email if you need to bring any information with you.

That’s ok. We know that some students find meetings difficult; we can ask questions and help guide the conversation.

That’s quite normal and completely ok. The wellbeing team understand that talking about difficult things can bring up strong emotions.

You can let us know which meeting option you prefer (face to face, phone or Microsoft Teams) and we will try to accommodate you. Some options have longer waiting times than others.

Your appointment email will tell you who your appointment is with. You will be meeting one of our Wellbeing advisors. Take a look at our gallery above for pictures of some of the team or visit our wellbeing specialists page.

Your appointment email will contain instructions on what to do if it’s a call, on Teams or face to face. We will send it to your university email address.

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please email wellbeing@fxplus.ac.uk as soon as possible.

We will always work with you to rearrange a session if you get in touch – even if you miss an appointment without cancelling first.
