In Between Lines comes to Cornwall

After a successful launch in October 2022, the In Between Lines exhibition will be running from 25-29 January in the Fish Factory Art Space in Penryn, Cornwall. The exhibition also includes: 

  • Friday 27th January, 19:00: Craft Workshop 
  • Saturday 28th January, 16:00 - 17:30: Conversation panel with the creators

In-Between Lines was a project designed, developed, and delivered by University of Exeter student fellows in early October 2022. Through an exhibition at Exeter Phoenix, a panel discussion, and poetry night, this project explored the influence of mixed-race heritage and care-experience on a person’s identity. Themes such as colourism, hair, beauty, family dynamic, and the notion of ‘home’ were also examined. 

The project is part of the 'Building the Anti-Racist University' project of the Exeter Decolonising Network, funded by the Centre for Social Mobility.

This piece explores the effect of mixed-race heritage and adoption on a person’s identity.
