The University has a variety of resources to help students succeed

  • Support for Widening Participation Students – information and guidance about the support the University provides for mature students, care leavers, student carers, low income students, students of colour and disabled students. The support provided covers a wide range of topics includin academic, wellbeing and careers amongst others.
  • The Success for All hardship fund has been created by the University, in partnership with its alumni community, to offer additional financial support if you are experiencing unexpected financial hardship which is affecting your ability to study within your current academic year. The fund is to assist with costs associated with your ability to study and cannot fully compensate for lack of parental contribution or over expenditure on non-essential items.

The University has a variety of resources to enable staff to support the Success for All agenda

  • Data and business intelligence – staff can access a range of widening participation data including progress against targets, university and discipline data on the MI Hub.
  • Education toolkit – guidance and resources about how to make your teaching inclusive. Access a range of topics from supporting students with ILPs, creating alternative assessments, decolonisation and anti-racist pedagogies. Access the Education Toolkit and Enhancement Hub.
  • Success for All Newsletter - designed to keep staff up to date with the goings on under the Success for All strategy. The most recent edition can be found here
  • Topic briefings – find out more about the needs and experience of specific student groups via the Office for Student website. Its topic briefings are a quick way of getting up to speed.
