About us

Global Advancement is responsible for building long-term relationships with the University’s alumni and supporters around the world.

We're in touch with more than 120,000 alumni in 183 countries across the world. Exeter graduates have been making a positive difference to the lives of others for over 100 years. From internationally recognised business people and lawyers, to inspirational politicians and teachers, to critically acclaimed journalist and artists, this is a fellowship of friends and peers.

Our alumni and friends and have helped Exeter become one of the very best universities in the world. Alumni support the university in many different ways. Some volunteer their time helping current students, our research, or our facilities. Some are 'country contacts', organising alumni networks and events in cities around the world. Some simply inspire us with their incredible achievements.

We are currently working on the University's largest ever fundraising Campaign, 'Making the Exceptional Happen', which aims to raise £60 million and 60,000 volunteering hours by 2020.

The Campaign aims to grow research in four key areas: Health, Living Systems, Sustainable Futures, and Society and Culture, as well as supporting students to achieve their potential through scholarships, bursaries, sports and enhancing employability.
