About this course:

All staff (other than those in scope of ADR) whose duties concern the carriage of Dangerous Goods whether directly or indirectly by Road, Sea, or Rail are required to receive training appropriate to their responsibilities.

Examples are, packers, loaders, pickers, warehouse & forklift operatives, freight forwarding or shipping agency office staff, supervisors, consignees and drivers of non-ADR vehicles.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to: - List the regulation, documental requirements and requirements of Dangerous Goods Notes.

- Produce documentation when required.

- Explain classification and identification of hazardous materials.

- List and explain hazard classes, UN numbers, product containment, the requirements for packages, marking and labelling.

- Present properly prepared, marked and labelled packages for shipment by road and sea.

Who should attend this course:

Anyone who ships hazardous materials through a courier, own vehicles or University vehicles.

Before the course:

Understand what you will be shipping - bring an example that the training provider will be able to help you with.

If safe to do so, photographic and documentary examples would also be acceptable.
