About this course:

This activity is for staff on R and E&R only contracts - grades E-G.

This course is delivered online and joining instructions will be circulated beforehand.

Mapping your experience, skills, competencies & attributes will enable you to write CVs and personal statements, and market yourself and answer questions effectively in interviews.

This interactive course will guide you through the process of mapping and collating the experiences you have had during your research experience to date whether as an Early Career Researcher or Postgraduate Researcher.

You will have the opportunity to identify the skills, competencies and attributes associated with these experiences and finally consider how to articulate these in both academic and beyond academic environments.

The process of mapping your experience, skills, competencies and attributes will enable you to write detailed and persuasive CVs and personal statements, and market yourself and answer questions effectively in interviews.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to:.

- Understand the skills, competencies and attributes you have developed through your research experience.

- Map your skills, competencies and attributes to job descriptions, and feel confident applying for jobs.

- Market and articulate your transferable skills and experience to employers.

- Make effective job applications.

This course is recommended for Early Career Researchers and Postgraduate Researchers.
