Wellbeing Learning Outcomes:This half day course is for anyone who has completed the 2 day MHFA England course within the last 3 years.

This MHFA England refresher course updates and renews your certification as a MHFAider for another 3 years.

The focus of this course is to renew MHFAider skills for supporting students.

This course is part of the Mental Health and Suicide Awareness training programme.

By the end of this session you will have: ? Refreshed your knowledge and skills to spot signs that a student may be experiencing poor mental health, distress and/or crisis.

? Increased confidence to start a conversation and signpost to appropriate support.

? Increased confidence to talk about suicide and respond in a safe supportive manner.

? Increased knowledge about support options for students both inside the University and external support options.

? An opportunity to practice applying the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan and understand ongoing support for you in your role as a MHFAider.

Audience:

This course is available to colleagues who have already completed the 2 day MHFA training and who primarily work in a student facing role.

Pre-work Requisites:

Completion of the 2 day MHFA course.

Resources:

Resources will be provided via MHFA England.
