About this course:

This activity is for staff on R and E&R only contracts - grades E-G.

This session will be DELIVERED VIRTUALLY - joining instructions will be provided beforehand.

Dr Jonathan Doney will lead an interactive workshop on the basics of questionnaire design, drawing on over a decade of using questionnaires in a variety of settings.

The workshop will focus on considering the key things to think about at the early stages of setting out on a questionnaire survey; it will be particularly appropriate for those who have no experience of questionnaire design.

Learning outcomes:

As a result of attending this course, you will be able to: - Consider and list the key objectives of your questionnaire.

- Consider how your research questions and analytical approach will shape the design of your questionnaire.

- Develop some initial understandings of good practice in questionnaire design in terms of which questions to ask and how to sequence them for best outcomes.

- Know where to go for more in-depth help with questionnaire design and analysis.

Who should attend this course:

This course is recommended for PGRs and Research Staff who are new to using questionnaires in research.

Be prepared to share your experiences of completing questionnaires as a respondent; if you are designing a questionnaire at the moment, bring your questions about this too!
