Visa application service

Our immigration advisers in International Student Advice offer a free personalised application service for Student, Dependant, BRP Replacement and EU Settlement Scheme applications made from within the UK. This service is offered to University of Exeter students and their dependant family members. Our full Terms of Advice Service, including confidentiality, are here.

Our service

We will meet with you or correspond via email to discuss the requirements for your visa application. We will also liaise with other University departments where necessary to help you put together a good application. You will then attend a further appointment where we will check your application form and documents and help you to submit them online and book a biometric appointment where this is required.

If there are any problems with your application, we can liaise with the Home Office for you.

If you are making a Student, Dependant or Replacement BRP application, we will act as the correspondence address on your application and your BRP card will be sent to our office when it is issued. We will update your visa details in the University’s system and email you to collect your BRP from the Innovation Centre (Streatham) or the PIP Desk (Penryn).

Get in touch

We recommend that any student making one of the above applications in the UK apply through International Student Advice. You can book an appointment or ask for initial advice in a variety of ways - please see the Access Our Service page.

We do not check and submit applications for students applying for visas outside of the UK but we are happy to provide in-depth advice on those applications. You can contact us at visaadvice@exeter.ac.uk with any questions.

Students coming from another institution

If you have a current Student visa for another institution (for example, because you have finished a Bachelor’s degree at another university and will now be studying your Master’s at Exeter), you must submit a valid Student visa application for your University of Exeter course before you can register at the University of Exeter. This is the case even if still have time remaining on your current visa.

To ensure that you are able to register on time for your Exeter course, we strongly recommend that you submit your application through International Student Advice as described above or at least receive advice from one of our advisers in advance. Contact us as early as possible at visaadvice@exeter.ac.uk for advice.

Students progressing from INTO Exeter programmes

We operate a separate visa application service for students progressing from INTO Exeter programmes (including Pre-sessional, Foundation, International Year One, and Graduate Diploma) onto degree programmes at the University.

You will receive detailed information about this service during your INTO programme. If your application will be made in the UK, you must submit your application through this service, which will include attendance at scheduled visa workshops. If you have any questions or think you have missed information that you should have received, please email visaadvice@exeter.ac.uk.
