Thanks to your support we achieved our Campaign goal 12 months ahead of schedule!

In total more than £71,000,000 was raised for our ‘Making the Exceptional Happen’ Campaign, supporting University of Exeter research projects and students. In addition more than 103,000 hours were volunteered by alumni around the world in support of students, fellow alumni and university strategy.

Making the Exceptional Happen: Campaign target exceeded

More than £62 million has been donated to the Campaign to fund vital research into diseases, seek solutions to environmental problems, and understand economic, social and political dynamics.

Matt Hutnell, Director at Santander Universities, visited the University of Exeter on 5 February 2020 to attend a celebration event of our relationship and formally sign a new three year funding agreement (2019-22).

PhD students Aaron Choi and Aaron Page are the recipients of a generous gift from the Bateman Family Charitable Trust which has enabled their respective PhD’s in Medicine and Business to be fully funded.

Masks for Chimps

Donations to a crowdfunding project have helped to get much needed PPE and ‘tip taps’ to Guinea Bissau’s Cantanhez National Park to protect populations of endangered chimpanzees at risk of developing Covid19.

New Fireflies for Exeter Sailing

The Sailing Club is one of the largest and most successful university sailing clubs in the country. Thanks to donations they were able to secure the last of the funds required to replace a much needed flight of six boats.

Wild Film Fest 2020

On 7 March 2020, the Penryn campus hosted the Wild Film Fest. Organised by students and supported by the Alumni Annual Fund, the event included a talk by the renowned conservationist and broadcaster Ben Garrod.
