Exetra – the recent alumni group

Exetra, the recent alumni group, organises professional networking and social events for alumni in the London area who graduated in the last ten years.

Run by a committee of alumni volunteers, Exetra aims to help recent graduates improve their employability by having the opportunity to hear from experts in their field, learn about different career sectors and improve their skills. As well as this the group enables graduates to meet fellow alumni, allowing them to expand their personal and professional networks.

Created in 2009, Exetra has now held more than 30 events that over 700 individual alumni have attended. The events have welcomed over 40 industry speakers to share their knowledge and expertise with recent alumni and events have been held at over 20 different venues across London.

Recent networking events have included ‘Changing Career', 'Getting into Law' held at Freshfields in London and a special Diamond Jubilee event held at the Ritz Hotel with former Chancellor of the University Floella Benjamin! As well as this the group has also run events on advertising, work-life balance and politics.  Each autumn the group holds a Wine Tasting event for new graduates and each winter they hold the Christmas Exetra Pub Quiz which is now a regular event in the Exeter alumni social calendar.
