Campaign to end early
Thanks to the generous support of our alumni and friends, the University is in line to meet its campaign targets a year early.

New projects supported by the Annual Fund
The teachers of tomorrow, a project supporting Bulgarian orphans, the University mine and career development programmes are all to receive funding thanks to the generosity of alumni.

Alumni recognised in Honours' List
A number of Exeter alumni have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours.  Professor Judy Hargadon, Chief Executive of the School Food Trust, was awarded the OBE for services to childrens' well-being.

Alumni and Convocation Reunion Weekend
The annual reunion weekend is taking place from 9-13 September.  A series of special events has been planned across the weekend, with a special dinner for those who graduated 25, 50 and 50+ years ago.

International alumni gather for events
From Paris to Beijing, Greece to Australia, Exeter alumni have been meeting across the globe to socialise and network. This is thanks to our Country Contacts - alumni who generously give their time to act as contact points and event planners in a particular area.

Alumnus leads students on charity mission
Tom O'Connell (Russian and Spanish 2011) is leading students on one of Britain's most gruelling challenges.  The Munro Mission is one of six high-profile events that will raise money for DecAid; a charity run by over 60 University of Exeter students and alumni in aid of service charities.

Composers perform in Paddon Music Final
Brand new musical compositions were performed at this year’s Paddon Award final.  The seven finalists included students and alumni, with their music compositions based on the theme: "New horizons - music in a cross-cultural landscape."

Students' Guild survey
The Students' Guild is carrying out a survey to look at the impact it has made on its members and their engagement with society after they've left the University.  The results will be used to help the Guild develop its services. Click here to take part in the survey.

Honorary Graduates announced
This year, the University will be honouring a combination of its alumni, notable individuals from the local area and others who have made a significant contribution internationally.  All alumni are welcome to submit nominations for honorary graduates.  The 2012 nomination process and form are outlined on our website.

Vice-Chancellor honoured with a knighthood
The University of Exeter’s Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Professor Sir Steve Smith has been knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his services to higher education locally and nationally. 

Exeter ranked in top ten UK universities
The University of Exeter has been rated as one of the top ten UK universities in The Times Good University Guide 2012. Ranked tenth out of 116 UK higher education institutions, Exeter holds the highest position for a South West university.

One Planet MBA - new scholarships announced
A raft of major corporations have announced their support for the new One Planet MBA programme, exclusively offered at the University of Exeter Business School, in collaboration with WWF.

Cricket world-record set by Exeter alumnus
A new cricket Twenty20 world-record has been set by bowler and Exeter graduate Arul Suppiah (Accounting and Finance 2005).  The Somerset County cricketer took six wickets for just five runs in 22 balls in the game against Glamorgan in Cardiff.

Close-run scoreline in alumni basketball match
Alumni and current students took to the basketball court to battle it out in a tightly-fought contest. The event was part of the annual All Stars Day, organised by basketball captain Henry Conrad.
