Why did you choose to study here?

Location and the reputation of Exeter's Classics Department

What did you enjoy most about studying here?

The campus and general atmosphere of the university. Fantastic academically but also fun university to be at. And a very strong reputation for sports.

Your career

Please tell us as much as possible about your career since leaving Exeter.

What have you been doing since leaving Exeter, and what are you doing now?

I worked in sales in London, then as a Special Advisor at the Scottish Parliament. I then moved back into sales in Edinburgh, and am now an elected Member of the Scottish Parliament.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I get to represent people in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland at Holyrood, as well as helping them with issues. I'm also the Scottish Conservative's Spokesman on Jobs, Employability and Training.

How have your University of Exeter studies helped in your career?

A degree from Exeter is recognised as a degree from a top university. The general atmosphere and opportunities that Exeter offers, produces graduates with a good work ethic - work hard but try and enjoy what you do.

What are your plans for the future?

To keep getting elected.
