What are our five priorities?

Race Equality Charter - 5 Priorities

Our Race Equality Charter aims to create a more inclusive and diverse university community, and we have identified five key priorities to drive this work forward.

  • Priority 1 is to address racism on campus and within the local community, which involves a range of actions to combat discrimination and promote understanding.
  • Priority 2 is to diversify our staff and student community, which includes measures to increase recruitment and retention of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic individuals.
  • Priority 3 is focused on improving representation of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic staff at senior levels.
  • Priority 4 involves developing an inclusive culture that welcomes and values all members of our community.
  • Priority 5 focuses on inclusive education and practice, which involves evaluating and improving our curriculum and teaching methods to promote diversity and inclusivity.
