First round of follow-up questionnaires being sent out
August 2016
We are now nine months from the beginning of the surveillance study, and the first follow up questionnaires are going out this week! The questionnaires are short and will not ask for any detailed case notes of the patient; the questions will just confirm what has happened during transition for the patient. We encourage all clinicians that have returned a questionnaire to us previously, to look out for these follow up questionnaires and return them accordingly. To clarify, the follow up questionnaire is sent nine months from the time the case was notified to BPSU or CAPSS, not nine months from the date the first questionnaire is returned.
Currently we have 221 notifications from BPSU and a return rate of 74% (116 eligible cases) which is fantastic. CAPSS are a little behind this with 166 notifications and a return rate of 54% (58 eligible cases). We are aiming to recruit 200 eligiblecases for each BPSU and CAPSS and the surveillance study is continuing to run until October 2016 so Paediatricians and Psychiatrists please continue to notify cases via the yellow/orange card to BPSU and CAPSS.
