Overview
Project manager for the Molecular Mechanics Initiative, funded by the UKRI Strategic Projects Fund, Physics of Life, supporting PIs Professor Frank Vollmer and Professor Jennifer Littlechild on that project and Professor Vollmer’s wider portfolio. Responsible for monitoring progress, finance, meetings and events, potential commercialisation, reporting to UKRI.
Gillian's early background was in design and construction, educated at Birmingham School of Architecture, then working as a consultant in information management, technical research, technical writing and product sourcing, for architects, interior designers, product designers and facilities managers; specialising in technical standards, colour systems, space planning and furniture.
From 2011 to 2018 Gillian worked for the University of Bristol, initially managing the Centre for English Language and Foundation Studies and from 2012 as School Manager of the School of Arts - managing the departments of Music, Film, Theatre, Anthropology and Archaeology, and Philosophy. For the eight years before that she was Director of the Architecture Centre in Bristol.
