Introduction
The Industrial Research Team focus on collaborative research with industry around the interface of mathematical modelling, data analytics and (bio)medicine:

Our industrial fellows are often those who have transitioned from industry, wishing to move closer to academic research, as well as those currently working within a university who wish to partner with industry to develop projects.
These roles are a key focus of our latest round of funding from the Wellcome Trust. Working closely with our Impact and Development Partnership Manager, researchers work with industry partners to develop ideas into sustainable longer-term projects. The fellows utilise quantitative skills that can be applied to problems identified by industry partners.
With a focus on the government's Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, our fellows are supported to develop projects, and secure onward funding from both partners and government initiatives.
As part of the Quantitative Health Network (the umbrella network within which TREE sits), fellows are part of a wider research group of around 60 researchers, based in the Living Systems Institute. We have extensive and growing research links across the University, and we encourage our members to establish new connections that could lead to innovative research questions and grant applications.
Our industrial fellows stem from a strong quantitative background, applying their skills to a variety of challenging problems. They are comfortable explaining technical terms to a non-technical audience, and being able to adapt existing solutions to new problems. The Quantitative Health Network is full of curious people who want to keep learning and work within interdisciplinary teams to find solutions to new problems.
