"I chose Exeter for its strong global reputation and the business school, where I could grow both academically and personally. The BSc Business Analytics course provided me with a brilliant blend of technical and business thinking, preparing me for my future academic and career journey. Modules… pushed me to think analytically in real-world contexts…provid[ing] me with the opportunity to act as a consultant, conduct an in-depth internal and external analysis followed by a set of strategic recommendations."
"…One of the benefits of the course were the optional modules that we were able to choose, allowing us to tailor the degree programme to our liking and future career path.
The industrial placement year was one of the highlights of my degree. This is a significant opportunity where students have the option to apply materials learnt at university in the real-world, gaining exposure to the work life. I spent 13-months at Volkswagen Financial Services (UK) Limited working as a Business Controlling Undergraduate, where I had the opportunity to provide financial reports, conduct commercial and financial analysis, and present my findings to senior stakeholders. The university’s careers team were excellent throughout the process."

Course content
Your first year is composed of compulsory modules to ensure you receive a strong grounding in the core competencies of your degree, as well as the ability to undertake 30 credits of optional modules, meaning you can begin to explore areas of interest.
Your second year develops your analytics skills to an intermediate level, whilst enabling much more flexibility to pursue your interests by allowing for 45 credits of optional modules.
In your final year, whilst compulsory modules develop your knowledge to advanced level, 60 credits of optional modules allow you to specialise according to your interests, or explore a wide range of topics: enabling you to graduate with a broad knowledge base.
You may take option modules as long as any necessary prerequisites have been satisfied, where the timetable allows and if you have not already taken the module in question or an equivalent module.
You may notice changes to some of our modules over the coming months. This is because we are making space for the following:

With this module you can spend one semester studying at a European or non-European partner institution and 6 months' work placement abroad in a country of your choice.
