New student residences
As part of our on-going commitment to providing the very best experience for our students, we are developing new on-site student accommodation on our Streatham campus.
This £40m investment, will provide approximately 1,580 new student bedrooms, enabling us to accommodate more of our students on campus and reducing pressure on the city’s accommodation.
The East Park development on Streatham will provide housing for around 1,200 students from 2021, and the redevelopment of Moberly House and Spreytonway will provide a further 380 bedrooms.
These residences will provide high-quality accommodation for our students, in walking distance of lectures, the library and education support services, as well as the Students’ Union and our excellent sports facilities. Each residence will also provide accessible accommodation, cycle storage and a space to socialise and study.
The University has in the region of 4,000 beds on the campus and there are a number of providers of purpose built student accommodation off campus, in the city centre, at St David’s, and in other areas close to the campuses. In order to support our growth in line with our vision, we need to ensure that there are more beds on campus to provide for our students in the coming years, particularly for first year students and international postgraduate students.
