The on-campus living experience is a priority for our first-year undergraduates who want to be within walking distance of Streatham Campus. East Park, our largest student residence development since 2012, plans to provide 1,182 modern bedrooms on a site marked for development for the University’s use since the 1970s.
Involving current students in the design process to shape the look and feel of the future residence has been central to the recent selection of University Partnerships Programme (UPP) as the preferred bidder to design, build, fund, and operate East Park. East Park will offer prospective students the opportunity to choose from a range of room types and rent levels and enjoy a variety of amenities – all included in the recent design proposals as a result of student feedback.
Outline planning for the site was granted in April 2017 and subject to approval of the Reserved Matters application later in 2018, works are planned to commence in early 2019. East Park is set to open in two phases from September 2020 and September 2021.
East Park forms part of our commitment to ease the pressure on accommodation in the city, as well as providing a range of options for future students alongside our other new student residences Moberly and Spreytonway.
Reserved Matters planning approval for the East Park development was granted in October 2018. Works are due to commence in early 2019 with the new accommodation set to open in two phases from September 2020 and September 2021.
