Cross Keys refurbishment
The £1.7 million Cross Keys project on the St Luke’s campus will deliver a high quality multipurpose space which will both enhance the student and staff experience and provide a vibrant focal point for all campus users, creating a social heart to the campus which meets the needs of its growing and diverse community.
During the summer of 2018 the existing ground floor level of Cross Keys will be reconfigured and upgraded which will include a newly developed catering outlet. In addition a first-floor extension will be added increasing the current capacity from 150 to around 250. The aim of the project is to create a flexible space where staff and students can meet, study and eat as well as an area which will allow out of term events, conferences, student society events and open days to all utilise the space.
Subject to planning approval the project is due to commence at the beginning of June 2018 and will be completed in early January 2019.
Staff and students were invited to attend a consultation event on Wednesday 2 May, 11:00-15.30, Cross Keys, thank you to everyone who attended the session and also provided feedback online. The project team are pleased to announced the biophillic and eclectic/cosy club designs were both extremely popular and as a result elements from both will be integrated into the new facility.
