What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?

I loved the freedom of final year to choose modules that I was deeply interested in. I found all my chosen subjects to challenge my way of thinking and stretch my academic ability. I am leaving with not only a deeper understanding of my specialised area of law, but also with a greater love for the subject, and desire to pursue a career in this area

Please tell us about the award you were given

I was awarded the Ashurst Prize for the best overall LLB student in 2019. I was blown away to have been awarded this prize. I have never considered myself especially academic, but have always tried my hardest and put 100% into everything I do. This prize has encouraged me to continue to work my hardest no matter what the challenge, and to throw myself into every new adventure

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

My highlight from the past three years has been having the opportunity to be involved in so many different things, whether that be representing Exeter in sport, volunteering in the local community, leading a social justice society or getting stuck into my course. But most of all being able to do all of these things alongside some of the most incredible people.

What will you miss most about the university?

So much! It's so hard to pick one thing - but the atmosphere that Exeter campus seems to have is something very special! There is a constant buzz of friendly, outgoing people who make the general environment very unique to Exeter and I will most definitely miss this very much.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

Get stuck in! Exeter may seem small but it has so much to offer! University is such a unique time to try something completely new, meet people completely different to yourself, and develop who you are as a person. Regardless of whether you are going into first, second or third year, it’s not too late to get involved and make the most of all the university has to offer.

What are your plans now that you’ve graduated?

I am hoping to go into international law and human rights.
