What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?

I most enjoyed my third year, as this was the year I was able to choose which modules I wanted to study. I chose a variety of modules so that I could explore different areas of law. Whilst third year was certainly my most demanding year, it was also the most rewarding as I had the opportunity to explore so many different areas of law.

Please tell us about the award you received.

I have been awarded the Michael Schmitt Prize in Public International Law, which is awarded to the student with the highest overall mark in the module. This award means a lot to me as I felt that Public International Law was my most demanding module, as it is a very complex area of law. It is very rewarding to find out that all my hard work paid off and that I managed to really get to grips with such complex legal concepts.

In addition to this, I was also awarded a Dean’s Commendation for Exceptional Performance, as I was one of the highest performing students in my College this year. It is extremely rewarding to know that my hard work this year has been recognised.

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

The highlight of my time at Exeter was third year results day. I was genuinely shocked to find out how well I had done; it was such a rewarding experience.

What will you miss most about the university?

What I will miss most is definitely the people. I have met so many different people at Exeter and made some amazing friends, my university experience would not have been the same without them!

What advice would you give to current and future students?

Read as many journal articles as you can! Whilst it is difficult to find time to do extra reading, it is so important. Exploring different legal perspectives helps you understand legal concepts in particular areas of law, as well as wider themes that run throughout law as an institution.

What are your plans now that you’ve graduated?

I am going to be taking the LPC LLM in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Law in Bristol.
