‘Always remember that you have what it takes to excel’

What did you enjoy most about your degree programme?

It is a very intellectually stimulating and interesting subject. It got me to think more critically about issues and read wider. Since the law regulates practically everything we can think of, I gained great insight into how it works in some areas. I have a better understanding of why certain policies are in place and the rationale behind different laws that have been established

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

As cliché as it sounds, I would say Graduation day was the highlight. It brought back so many memories of my bittersweet experience at Exeter. It was an amazing feeling to witness my 3 year journey culminate as I received my hard-earned degree. It got me to reflect on everything and left me so joyful that every part of the process was worth it, no matter how bleak it may have seemed during a particular moment.

What will you miss most about the university?

I will miss the beautiful campus. Anyone that knows me well knows how much I adore Exeter's aesthetically pleasing nature. I will also miss some of the amazing lecturers I had the opportunity meeting. They have all shaped my life in a positive way.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

Never lose perspective. University will throw different things at you and on many occasions, you will question if you can make it through. Always remember that you have what it takes to excel. Yes, the failures and disappointments will come but use each of them a learning curve and seek to improve each time. Falling down is never an issue, rising back up is what matters. You have what it takes. Once your perspective is in check, nothing can stop you. Even if it gets blurred every now and again, make sure you get it back where it needs to be. Also, never be afraid to seek help when you need it. No man is an island.

What are your plans now that you’ve graduated?

I am taking the BPTC to fulfil my hope of becoming a Barrister
