Brexit - January 2018

It is not yet known how Brexit will affect travel to, from or through EU countries. The Government has published a "How to prepare if the UK leaves the EU with no deal" webpage. This includes some travel information under the following heaings (you will need to scroll through the page to get to the right sections):

Travel insurance 

The University’s travel insurance is with Aviva.

It provides very wide cover for staff and postgraduate students while travelling abroad. Cover includes unlimited medical expenses, medical repatriation, loss of personal belongings, loss of University equipment, travel cancellation, alteration and delay.

To notify us of your trip and be covered under the University travel insurance policy, please complete the international travel form. You will then receive confirmation of the current travel insurance cover automatically. If you answer yes to any of the risk questions on the form we will contact you to discuss your trip. 

When supervising a group, it is important that you share your risk assessment with the other members.

Undergraduate travel

A similar policy is also available for undergraduate student for fieldtrips and study abroad programmes.
