Exeter International Foundation
Improve your subject knowledge and English language skills to the level you need to begin Year 1 of 150+ undergraduate degrees at the University of Exeter, providing you meet the academic requirements. Subjects include accounting and management to biological sciences, engineering and humanities.
Exeter International Foundation
Undergraduate degree with International Foundation (ICAS)
Develop your understanding of academic subjects related to your chosen degree as you improve your English language and study skills. You’ll continue directly to Year 1 of your degree, provided you meet the academic requirements after the first year of your study plan. If you do not meet the minimum entry requirements for this programme, you should apply for the Exeter International Foundation.
International Year One
The International Year One programmes provide academic preparation for entry to the second year of a relevant undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter. The programme is equivalent to the first year of an undergraduate degree and is suitable for students who do not meet the academic and/or English language requirements for direct entry to the University.
Undergraduate degree with International Year One in Engineering (ICAS)
Develop your understanding of engineering as you improve your English language and study skills you’ll continue directly to Year 2 of your degree, provided you meet the academic requirements after the first year of your study plan. If you do not meet the minimum entry requirements for this programme, you should apply for an International Year One in Engineering.
Pre-sessional English
This 18, 10 or 6 week English preparation course will provide you with short and intensive preparation in academic English. It's suitable for you if you're already academically qualified and are due to start an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Exeter. Please note: there may be a variation in English language requirements depending on your intended degree program.
Academic English
This course will help you reach the required level of Academic English for your chosen course of study at the University of Exeter. Depending on your level of English you can choose between 1 term or 4 terms as is designed to meet your language learning needs, with classes at different levels to ensure you gain the language fluency and academic skills you need to succeed.

Progression
All students at are guaranteed* to receive a conditional offer for progression to study at the University of Exeter after their application.

English language skills development
The English language support team are there to help you when you progress to the University. The team run courses, workshops and tutorials that can support your English language development during your degree or masters. You can look to improve and develop your academic English and literacy skills for academic study, and to build communicative and intercultural competence for life in the UK.
Progression
All students at ISC Exeter are guaranteed* to receive a conditional offer for progression to undergraduate or postgraduate study at the University of Exeter after their application to the University.
The conditions of the offers made are referred to as 'progression requirements' and are set by the University of Exeter Admissions Office, working closely with our Academic Faculties.
The progressions team are here to support and guide you into the University of Exeter to ensure you feel confident about your next steps at the University. The Placement Officer also helps students who are not able to meet the University’s requirements to find a place elsewhere if needed.

Through the year the team run drop-in sessions and events to help you with your progression to the University. The activities are also often supported by an enthusiastic and friendly team of International Student Ambassadors, who are all University of Exeter students who studied on the ISC Exeter pathways before they progressed successfully.

*Where a programme requires a student to attend an interview, ISC students will be guaranteed an invite to interview. Conditional offers will be considered based on performance at interviews alongside all other students interviewed for the programme.
Living in Exeter

Accommodation for International Study Centre students
During your studies you may choose to live in either on-campus accommodation managed by Exeter ISC, or with a British host family in the city of Exeter.
After you complete your studies, if you progress onto an undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University of Exeter, you may apply to our student accommodation or choose to live in private accommodation in the city.
International Foundation students
If you are a Foundation student, and you will enter the first year of an undergraduate degree with us after your ISC studies, you can apply for accommodation as a new undergraduate and may fall into our accommodation guarantee. Applications open in April of your year of entry.
International Year One students
If you are a Diploma student entering the second year of an undergraduate degree with us after your ISC studies, we are unable to provide University of Exeter accommodation. Please refer to our private accommodation webpages for information on where to search for private accommodation in Exeter.
Pre-sessional students
If you are studying a short language course before your undergraduate or postgraduate studies begin, and will live in University accommodation during your degree, you may be able to apply to move in to your room early after your ISC accommodation contract ends.
