Masters-level conversion programmes

We are offering a range of Masters-level engineering programmes, enabling graduates from non-engineering disciplines to transition to a career in the engineering sector.

MSc Civil Engineering 

Civil engineering is essential for the sustainable provision of the infrastructure used in our daily lives, from buildings, to roads, bridges and waterways, and more innovative solutions are constantly being sought as the demands of modern civilisation increase.

MSc Water Engineering 

Water engineering is of significant global interest and highly trained graduates are highly sought after. Graduates can expect to take on exciting roles in consultancies, water utilities, contractors, regulatory bodies, government agencies, and international organisations following successful completion of the programme.

MSc Structural Engineering 

Today, structural engineering is more than just design. Expert consultants are needed globally with a complete skill set; the ability to design, manage and maintain structures, but also to enable existing civil infrastructure to operate under changing loading and environment.

All of our engineering pathways offer you the opportunity to include additional modules in management, strategy and innovation. These optional modules are delivered in partnership with the University of Exeter Business School

Tailored maths support for converting students

Applicants to the conversion programmes are expected to have a good level of mathematical ability, usually to A-level standard or equivalent. Throughout your studies you will have access to an additional Mathematics for Engineers module. This online resource is non-credit bearing, and aims to provide the necessary grounding in mathematics needed to undertake the programmes, while also acting as an invaluable revision tool for those who simply wish to refresh their A-level maths knowledge.

A pathway to Chartered Engineer (CEng) status

As a Masters-level graduate with a non-engineering undergraduate degree, you'll have the potential to work towards Chartered Engineer status while retaining your undergraduate specialism, making you especially attractive across a broader range of sectors.
