Travel Disruption Information - February to March 2014

Due to the current weather-related travel problems and the subsequent increased demand for car parking, the University has been urgently investigating temporary solutions to help relieve the short term pressure for staff and students.

We are pleased to be able to confirm that, as of next Monday 17 February, a park and ride will operate from the Arena Athletics Stadium in Summer Lane, Whipton, Exeter, to the Stocker Road Entrance of the Streatham Campus. The stadium has a large car park which can accommodate up to 400 cars.

This service will run for a period of 5 weeks from 0830hrs each weekday morning until 1100hrs, and from 1600hrs to 1830hrs each evening.

Both the parking and the shuttle will be free to staff and students. The journey time is approximately 8 - 10 minutes subject to traffic conditions and the shuttle will therefore run approximately every 20 minutes.

Staff and students wishing to access the service will be asked to show their University identification cards.

We are monitoring the situation at the St Luke’s Campus. However, parking is currently within capacity at the campus on most days.

We hope these measures will help make the journey to and from work easier over the coming weeks for everyone.
