Applying from 1 August onwards

We encourage students who are coming to the University of Exeter to apply for accommodation once you have firmly accepted a course offer with us even if this is after our Accommodation Guarantee.

After 1 August, University accommodation will be limited however, we will update this webpage with the latest information as it becomes available.

As well as submitting an application for University accommodation, you may decide to arrange your own accommodation and if this is the case, we recommend that you look at our private housing options which include purpose-built accommodation, very similar to university accommodation.

For more information, please refer to the information provided below depending on the type of student you are:

If you have put the University of Exeter as your insurance or clearing choice or have received a place through adjustment, you can apply for accommodation at the University of Exeter once your university offer is confirmed. Please note it can take up to two days for a firmly accepted offer to be transferred to our accommodation system and therefore you will not be able to activate an accommodation account immediately. Please refer to the information in the next set of drop-down information for details on how to apply.

How likely am I to be allocated University accommodation?

Priority will be given to students whose applications have been supported by our Wellbeing Services Teams. After that, we will consider each application in date order of receipt. If you submit an application for accommodation, we will provide updates to you via email and will advise all students by the beginning of September if we are able to offer you accommodation. Our Accommodation Blog will provide updates and information daily from Wednesday 15 August – Friday 14 September 2018.

What happens if you are unable to offer me University accommodation?

If we are unable to allocate you to University accommodation, we will advise you of alternative options so you can make your own arrangement for private accommodation in the city. We will provide information on this page if we become aware of any purpose-built providers in the city offering accommodation.
