Abigail Woodley
New placement researcher joins the team
September 2016
We have been very pleased to welcome Abigail Woodley to the CATCh-uS team this month. She will be providing research suppport to the project for a year:
I am currently undertaking a placement year working as a research assistant at the University of Exeter Medical School, specifically allocated to the CATCh-uS project.
Currently, I am an undergraduate studying Psychology at the University of the West of England. Here, I have been involved in: the peer assisted learning programme, providing advice and support to first year undergraduate students; the Succeed Body Image Programme intervention, which involved leading and delivering the intervention to first year undergraduate students and year 9 high school students, aiming to facilitate the prevention and awareness of eating disorders; and the career development programme, developing skills in leadership and management.
Outside of university, I have dedicated eight months to volunteer work at the addiction recovery agency as a cognitive behavioural therapy course facilitator, including courses for anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. I am also currently working alongside a practicing private psychologist.
My future aspiration is to achieve a Doctorate of Clinical Psychology and become a practicing clinical psychologist.
