Exeter Mental Health Award

The Exeter Mental Health Award (EMHA) would be a mental health literacy course and accreditation provided as an optional extra for students. It would consist of three 2hr workshops during terms 1 & 2 of first year. Completion of these workshops will result in an accreditation as well as access to volunteering opportunities that would not be available to other students. Workshop One would act as an introduction anxiety disorders, depression, and substance abuse; Workshop Two as an introduction to self-harm, suicide, personality and eating disorders, and how to stage an intervention; Workshop Three as a discussion of stigma, mental health literacy as prevention, and what facilities are available to help students with mental health.
