Mind the Gap

This group ran a survey at the beginning of their week which found that the majority of Exeter students don’t feel supported by their tutor and 35% have never been contacted by their tutor independently. Therefore, they created a three-step project to find a remedy to this disparity. Stage 1 would be two training sessions for tutors – Mental Health First Aid and ‘Introduction to Tutoring’. Stage 2 would be 30-minute opt-out scheduled 1-1 session per term. Stage 3 would be tutors giving each student personalised and informed signposting, including helping them set reasonable goals and taking a role as a social prescriber
