This page provides information for those who have agreed to provide research reviews to support the University's understanding of its research performance and REF2029 preparations.
- 2023/24 Outputs review timeline
The timeline for outputs review this academic year:
January 2024: Nomination of outputs
February - March 2024: Internal review of outputs
mid-April 2024: a selection of outputs sent to external reviewers for moderation
mid-May 2024: Return of moderation comments and grades
June 2024: Review of departmental research quality profile, primarily using any internal grants
July 2024: Review of UoA-level readiness by REF Main Panel with a consideration of output grades calibrated following the moderation by external reviewers.

External reviewers will recieve a version of this External review template with details of the relevant outputs. Where available DOI and urls will be provided; where DoIs are not available or the output is not available in an open access version, an electronic version of the document will be sent. Exceptionally, where there is no alternative, a hard copy might be posted to the external reviewer.
