Project aims and objectives

The University allocates 25% of the revenue from increased tuition fees to the undergraduate bursary and scholarship schemes.  It provides guaranteed financial support to students from lower income backgrounds through bursary schemes and recognises and supports achievement through scholarships.  The development of these schemes has focussed attention on the processes we use to administer the range of bursaries and scholarships available to our students.  Schools are also developing a substantial portfolio of awards.  SoBE offered £1,447,810 worth of bursaries and scholarships during the 2006/07 recruitment cycle.  A review of the consistency, efficiency and clarity of information and processes is appropriate following the rapid expansion of financial support.
