BA History

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

The highlight of my time at Exeter has been meeting so many amazing people, with whom I’ll be friends for life.

What will you miss the most about University?

Well, I decided that I’d miss researching the early modern period so much that I’m going to carry on studying and do an MA next year.

What did you enjoy about your particular programme?

I really loved getting the opportunity to conduct independent research into a wide variety of topics, and follow my particular interests in my chosen modules with the support and advice of staff. I also enjoyed getting involved with the History department through the SSLC, and contributing to decisions made over the BA History course.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

I would advise current and future students to get involved with everything you can: your course, a wide variety of societies, sport. You haven’t got anything to lose from trying stuff out, and you’ll meet far more people beyond those in your flat and seminars.

What are your plans now that you have graduated?

I’m delighted to be studying MA History in Exeter, starting in September. In the meantime, I’ve been working for Flybe, and also plan to do some travelling around Europe. After my MA, I’d ideally like to do a PhD, but I’ll see where the next year takes me!
