Nika Cimperšek Bukinac

BA Drama

What has been the highlight of your time at Exeter?

The people I have met have been the highlight of my time here. From the friends I have made, to the incredible people I have worked with in my course, as well as the brilliant staff and lecturers working in the Drama department.

What will you miss the most about University?

I will miss creating exciting and challenging work with fellow students, researching topics that interest me and being able to see my closest friends every day.

What did you enjoy about your particular programme?

The Drama department is a family, and that transpires in the kind of work that students are able to create. Our programme allows students to challenge themselves, to take chances, to learn and to fail without fear. I also deeply value the relationships I was able to build with our lecturers, who made me feel like their peer.

What advice would you give to current and future students?

Be mindful of the privileged position you are in, be proud of your achievements, and be kind to yourself when things don’t go as planned.

What are your plans now that you have graduated?

I have applied for internships at several international organisations and hope to learn and gain experience working at a film production company in Sarajevo, Bosnia. Later, I intend to return to the UK and continue with my education.
