The Hague Careers with Purpose Conference 2025!
To celebrate 10 years of the Global Leaders Experience, an exclusive, new programme is coming your way! Based in the Hague, the experience is different from the rest- as we will be hosting our very own conference! Don’t miss out on the Global Leaders Experience Careers with Purpose conference and join your peers, academics and professionals in a festive setting of The Hague this December!
The Programme
Running between the 1st to the 5th of December, we will be returning to the Hague, but not for our usual peace and justice trip! This programme will be based all around YOU! Get the week started with a welcome to the Hague filled with presentations and guided tours. We will then be spending the 3rd of December at our very own conference! Expect 50+ stakeholders, peers, staff and external partners! Take part in micro-teaching sessions and talks across this information packed day with endless networking opportunities.
The visit doesn't end there, before travelling back to the UK you will also be taking part in a full-day training session at the Clingendael Institute! More information coming shortly!
Free time
Looking for ideas on what to get up to in your free time at the Hague? The trip couldn't come at a better time as the Hague Christmas market opens on the 4th of December, just in time for you stroll around the stalls and pick up some souvenirs!

Travel

Please note that we will be meeting at London St. Pancras on the 1st December as we are taking the Eurostar to the Hague. We will be returning to London on Friday 5th December.
Eligibility Criteria
- You will be enrolled as an undergraduate student at the time of the programme.
- This programme is open to undergraduate students who meet one or more of the Widening Participation criteria
- There are a small number of places available to international students. Please check in advance of applying whether you are required to apply for a visa to travel. Please check out our DISCLAIMER below if you're an international student interested in applying.
- You can travel to and from the UK between the 1st -5th December 2025.
- Not currently on a placement year or study abroad.
- Have an up-to-date passport with more than 6 months validity from date of return.
- Have not exceeded the 90 out of 180 days rule for travel in Europe by the date of the programme. If you are unsure of this please use this calculator.
Managing Expectations
- The global travel sector remains impacted by well publicised strikes, cancellation and disruption.
- Please be ready to follow any national or local guidance in relation to travel, such as passport validity for the Netherlands. If you are an international student, please check in advance visa requirements and costs essential for entry. Visa costs are not covered by the university. We will supply any travel documents required for your application.
- You are not currently required to provide proof of Covid-19 Vaccination to enter Sweden, however, please keep this in mind in case of any changes in the lead up to departure.
- Students are expected to travel to and from the UK as part of a group for the trip.
- Students will be sharing accommodation. Please see our FAQs for further information.
- There will be a pre-departure session which you need to attend ahead of the trip.

Disclaimer for International students
If you are an International student interested in applying for this experience, please check whether you are required to apply for a visa to enter the Netherlands. Due to the short turnover of the application process please think wisely before applying, to avoid potential disappointment in case your visa cannot be processed in time. There will be another trip to The Hague in April 2026 which may fit better with visa processing times.
