There are a range of events taking place at Exeter Cathedral throughout this month, up to and including Christmas Day. Cinderella at the Nortcott Theatre

Expect plenty of laughs, great music, amazing special effects and full-on fun for every generation with this fabulous tale of love found, lost and found again.

Peter Pan at the Corn Exchange

For well over a decade Exeter Corn Exchange has been the home of traditional family fun at Christmas time. Join them for this swash-buckling panto classic.  

Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market

Visit the Exeter's Christmas Market from 15 November - 15 December for some delicious Christmas spirit. 

In Exeter on Christmas Day (December 25)? Why not join our traditional Christmas Day Lunch in Holland Hall dining room from 12.30pm with lunch served at 1pm?

Tickets are £15.00 per adult, children's tickets £10.00 

Arrival drink, 2 course lunch with all the trimmings. Students and staff all welcome. Click here to book tickets

Tickets sales will close at 12 midday on Wednesday 18 December. Subject to availability.

• Please email careteam@exeter.ac.uk to cancel your ticket. Cancellations received before 12 midday on Monday 16th December will receive a full refund. Unfortunately, we will not be able to refund any tickets after this date.

Forum study spaces

• Open 24/7 throughout Winter Break

Forum Library

• Borrow and return items using the self-service machines
• Board games, festive reading, and films to borrow are available throughout

Student Services Centre study spaces

• 24/7 from 24 December – 2 January (including PC provision)

Temporary fire alarm panels in use – The Forum, Forum Library, Great Hall and Devonshire House

The usual fire alarm call system will be out of use in The Forum, including the Library and Great Hall, and Devonshire House, at Streatham campus, from Monday 23 December 2024 until Sunday 12 January 2025.

During this time there will be clearly marked temporary portable fire call units in place in these areas to use in the event of a fire emergency.

If you are on campus during this time, please take extra care while the contractors work in public areas, and follow the advice on any warning or safety signs.  Devonshire House and the Great Hall will be closed until Thursday 2 January.

Thank you for your cooperation during this work.

In the event of a fire

• Sound the alarm by pressing where marked on the portable fire call units located in the affected areas.  (In all other areas that are open over the break, use the usual fire call panels).
• Leave the building by the nearest fire exit, do not stop to collect your belongings and do not go back into the building until you’re told it’s safe to do so.
• Call 999 and ask for the Fire Service.
• Alert Estate Patrol, using the SafeZone app or by calling 01392 722222.

The International Student Advice team can be contacted in the usual ways until 3pm Tuesday 24 December after which we will close for the Christmas break. The team will be back at 9am on Thursday 2 January 2025.

Wellbeing Services will be operating a reduced service over the winter break. 

Up until Tuesday 24 December, please call 01392 724381 if you need any support. Our wellbeing and welfare teams are ready to assist you. 

From 4.30pm Tuesday 24 December, reopening on 9am Thursday 2 January please contact Estate Patrol on 01392 723999. Estate Patrol is a mobile, response-based service covering all aspects of security, safety and welfare for staff and students. 

There is also a lot of information, advice and guidance on the University’s Wellbeing and Support webpages. This includes  webinars and workbooks which you may find helpful. 

You an access a wide range of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy based support online through Living Life to the Full, and SilverCloud including courses on low mood, anxiety and stress. You can access Living Life to the Full through our A-Z of support services.

All students have access to Togetherall which is an online support community, offering peer and professional support and is available 24/7, 365 days of the year.

Postgraduate research students can also access Spectrum Life for counselling and support .

If you are experiencing difficulties with your mental health and want to speak with someone you can call 111 to access urgent mental health services. You can also contact The Samaritans on 116123 for free listening support.

If there is an immediate emergency and you require the police, ambulance or fire services call 999.

Guild Give It A Go events will be running over the break.  

The Estate Patrol Control Room is staffed 24/7 this includes the Christmas closure period.

Estate Patrol Officers will be available to provide advice, direction and attend incidents as required. The Non-emergency telephone line is 01392 723999, in cases of emergency individuals should contact the emergency services on 999 and then contact the Estate Patrol through their emergency line 01392 722222.  

In the event of an emergency involving student welfare, Estate Patrol (01392 723999) will be able to contact Student Services Senior Management Team staff to co-ordinate a response.
