The Internships Team can advertise your student vacancy (free service) and graduate role (charged service) to help you find the right candidate. When you place your vacancy to advert with the internship team, A2I will be able to reserve the Santander funding for you.

Once you have appointed your candidate we will also be able to check if they meet the Widening Participation (WP) Criteria, which may attract further funding. Due to the Equality Act 2010, we will not be able to advertise roles for companies wishing to apply solely for the Widening Participation (WP) funding. Instead students are encouraged to speculatively approach companies to arrange their own paid internship.

If you wish to advertise a vacancy please complete the and return it to internships@exeter.ac.uk. You will then be contacted by a member of the Internships Team to discuss the advertising and recruiting process.

Alternatively, if you have already found a University of Exeter intern and would like to take advantage of the funding, please get in touch so we can verify what funding the student is eligible to draw down for your company.

Once your chosen Exeter candidate has been identified and has accepted the position we ask you to return an A2I Appointment Form or complete a Santander SME Funding application form by Sunday 16th June 2019, to provide us with the internship details.

Once we have received details of the internship we will be in contact via email, to confirm the funding and ask you and your intern to complete the following:

  1. Sign and return an A2I Internship Agreement confirming the terms and conditions.
  2. Complete an 'External Supplier Details' form, in preparation for payment.
  3. Invoice the University, once you have been provided with an order number by the A2I team to quote on your invoice.

Please Note: All paperwork must be returned by Friday 5th July 2019 and invoices submitted by Friday 26th July 2019. Funding will be issued within 30 days of receipt.

We ask that you provide your intern with; an induction when they begin, set clear objectives for the internship, and to review and evaluate the intern's progress throughout. You are welcome to complete your own induction and performance indicators or you are welcome to use our paperwork:

We recommend that the intern meets with their line manager regularly. Previous interns have suggested daily meetings in the first week, then once every 2 weeks after this.

For further information and support please see the Employer Guide: Making the Most of Your Intern.

As a condition of receiving a subsidy both parties must complete an internship evaluation form. We ask that all forms are completed before the end of the internship.
