Events
The Events Office is responsible for a range of activities designed to promote the strengths and achievements of the University. This includes overseeing the organisation of a range of events, last year totalling more than 100, aimed at helping the University make and maintain contact with important stakeholders. These range from small dinners to major public events involving a thousand or more people.
Regular events include the Shaping the Future lectures which attract an external, as well as an internal, audience. They are usually given by major public figures who come to Exeter to talk about current issues in their field.
We organise VIP and ministerial visits, including Royal visits and organise the Honorary Graduates from nomination through committee to graduation. We manage the relationship with the Chancellor Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE DL and we work closely with colleagues in the Press Office, Development and Alumni Relations Office, Research and Knowledge Transfer and the International Office.
The Events Office, under the management of the International Events Officer, also organises the international travel for senior management delegations led by the Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive or the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor as part of the University's internationalisation strategy.
The Events Office team is led by the Events Manager, Margaret House-Hayes.
