Programme:
Poet Clare Best recites from her book Excisions (nominated for the Seamus Heaney Prize 2012), exploring preventative double mastectomy.
A panel discussion will follow with:
- Professor Janet Reibstein (Department of Psychology, University of Exeter, author of Staying Alive: A Family Memoir);
- Dr James Mackay (UCL, the only accredited UK Consultant Medical Oncologist specialising in clinical cancer genetics);
- Dr Corinna Wagner (Department of English, Exeter, author of Pathological Bodies: Medicine and Politics);
There will be an opportunity for audience questions and answers.
This will be followed at 8pm by a wine reception alongside an exhibition of stunning photographs by Laura Stevens of Clare Best’s project in the new Forum Building.
