Event details
This networking event organised by Exetra, the recent alumni group, will focus on the writing and journalism industry.
With an expert panel and Q&A session, followed by networking over refreshments, it promises to provide excellent opportunities for recent graduates interested in the writing industry to learn top tips from alumni and guest speakers experienced in writing, publishing, online blogging and journalism.
This is a free event open to all recent alumni.
Our panel of experts lined up so far are:
- Lauren Ace (Drama, 2006) - Senior Publicity Manager, Macmillan Publishers
- Charlotte Pike (Spanish & French, 2007) - Managing Director, Go Free Foods and blogger for HELLO! Magazine and the Guardian as well as her own food blog.
- Nick Brown (PGCE Secondary History, 2000) - Author of the Agent of Rome series
- Anne Wollenberg (English & Sociology 2004, MA English 2005) - Freelance Writer
- Roberta Bailey (French & German 1972) – Managing Director for Bailey Publishing Associates Ltd.
To register for this free event please contact Rachael Magee via r.magee@exeter.ac.uk. Spaces are limited so book early to ensure a place.
We welcome Lauren Ace (Drama 2006) Senior Publicity Manager for Macmillan. More information on all our panellists is available below and will be via our Facebook group.
Unfortunately Caroline Sheldon (History, 1974), is no longer able to join us for the event, any questions you may have had for her please submit to Rachael Magee who will look to pass them on for you.
We will be running a Q&A session as part of the event and there will be plenty of time to chat to members of the panel, so come armed with your questions to make the most out of what we hope will be a fantastic event. TO ensure your question is answered you can submit it in advance by emailing Alumni Officer Rachael Magee on r.magee@exeter.ac.uk.
