Springboard

Description

The Springboard Programme is a personal development programme designed especially for women.

It is run annually at the University of Exeter.

2013 programme dates.

- Monday 18 March, 09:30-16:30.

- Monday 15 April, 09:30-16:30.

- Monday 13 May, 09:30-16:30.

- Monday 10 June, 09:30-16:30.

Who is it for?

This is a women only programme.

What is it about?

Delivered over three months, it consists of five ingredients.

1) The springboard workbook, containing all the material for the entire programme.

2) Four action-packed one-day workshops.

3) The provision of real, relevant and inspiring role models.

4) The encouragement of effective networks within the group.

5) A local support system to enable sustainable progress.

Note: Slightly extended programme over four months, due the Easter dates.

What will I get out of it?

Opportunities to.

1) Identify and achieve personal learning and work objectives.

2) Develop self confidence, assertiveness and communication skills.

3) Embrace responsibility for own development and dealing with change.

4) Decrease stress and improve the work / home balance.

Course overview:

Topics covered.

- putting yourself across positively.

- building your image.

Is there anything I need to do before attending?

The programme is self nominating.

It will require approximately 3 hours a week self study time over the duration of the programme.

A pre-course self assessment questionnaire is available to help identify personal learning objectives.

To gain most benefit from the course, participants will need to commit to attend all the workshops.

If staff have any particular learning support requirements or disability related needs, arrangements can be made for access, alternative formats for the workbook, etc.

Do I get a qualification?

The programme is not accredited; Participants do receive a certificate of attendance.

Assessment There is no formal assessment during the programme.
