Asperger's Workshop I: Supporting students with Asperger's Syndrome

Who is it for?

This course is for anyone who has contact with students or other visitors to the University, whether on a brief or ongoing basis.

What is it about?

This workshop helps participants to gain an understanding of Asperger's Syndrome, including answering some common misconceptions around autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

This workshop provides practical advice on how to support students with Asperger's Syndrome, and strategies for successful interactions with people with Asperger's, whether a diagnosis is known or not.

What will I get out of it?

By the end of this workshop participants will.

1/ Understand various depictions of Asperger's Syndrome.

2/ Have an awareness of co-morbid issues.

3/ Understand some of the implications for study and life at University.

4/ Understand some strategies for working with students to Asperger's Syndrome.
