PDP for Students and the New ePDP Resource - An Update Session for Personal Tutors

Description

Since 2005, it has been mandatory for universities to support students' personal development planning, yet there are huge variations across the sector in terms of how this is interpreted and implemented.

This year, a new ePDP tool is being launched, providing just one way in which students can be encouraged to record and reflect on their experiences, achievements and skills.

Information about PDP and the new ePDP resource can be found at the new PDP information website at: www.exeter.ac.uk/epdp. However, academic staff are also warmly invited to come along to one of this series of lunchtime and early-afternoon sessions, setting PDP within context and providing an overview of the new system.

Aims and Outcomes:

This session will.

- Raise awareness of the national and institutional context for PDP.

- Focus on implications for curriculum design and delivery.

- Familiarise participants with the new ePDP resource .

By the end of the session you should be able to: - Understand the national requirements for PDP.

- Identify some examples of PDP-related activities and practices .

- Explore ways of using the ePDP tool to support students' personal development .
