Role of the Personal Tutor
| Description | This short, introductory session is designed to focus on student expectations of their personal tutors, and the role of the personal tutor at the University of Exeter.
Who is it for? Staff with personal tutoring responsibilities in Colleges.
Aims and Outcomes: - Understand the context of personal tutoring in Higher Education generally and at Exeter University in particular. - Demonsatrate awareness and understanding of the University's role in description for personal tutors. - Identity and access a range of resources available to support personal tutors. - Identify and access further development opportunities relevant to personal tutors. Additional information: Course content. - Evidence-based perspectives on both the student and staff experience of personal tutoring. - Discussion activities, thinking yourself into the personal tutor role. - Presentation of paper-based resources and further training opportunities that may help you in your role as a personal tutor. There will be handouts to take away at the end of the session. These will provide further reading on the topics covered.
