Awareness of IPR resource design

Description

This interactive session aims to give you the skills and knowledge to address aspects of IPR when creating learning and teaching resources.

Contributors to this event include Lee Snook, Head of Library, Learning and Research Support at University of Exeter and Caroline Cash, Award Leader MA in Education at University College Falmouth.

Aims and Outcomes:

1 Have a greater awareness of aspects of IPR/copyright within an educational context 2 Have an appreciation of the risk factors involved when creating or re-purposing resources for teaching and learning.

3 Develop strategies for addressing IPR issues when creating and using content for learning and teaching.

4 Know where to go for further advice and information.

Additional Information:

Session Content: - A self-evaluation quiz to determine levels of understanding/knowledge of IPR - An at a glance overview of the landscape, rights and responsibilities of IPR in educational contexts.

- Practical exercise to explore the steps required to gain and record appropriate permissions when creating or re-using content for learning and teaching.

- Sharing experiences and challenges of creating digitally enhanced educational materials.

Please note that if you have any examples of using or developing digital resources for your teaching, please bring them along!
