Disability Awareness
| Description | The workshop is to help you to improve the service that you offer customers with disabilities and specific needs. To provide practical advice and guidance on providing a service to customers with specific needs. Covering a range of sensory, mobility and learning disabilities, and concentrating on an individual's responsibility for effective communication, enhancing accessibility and delivering a high quality service to customers with special needs. To also help identify responsibilities as a service provider under the Disability Discrimination Act.
Aims and Outcomes: -You will recognise the benefits of providing excellent service to customers with disabilities. -Identify your responsibilities as a service provider under the Disability Discrimination Act. -Identify what customers with a disability need and expect. -Adopt a positive approach to meeting these needs and expectations. -Welcome customers with specific needs and communicate effectively with them. -Identify ways in which you can improve accessibility where you work.
