This course is for Researchers, Academics, Technical and Professional Support staff responsible for the preparation of funding/grant applications and, or the expenditure associated with research/project delivery.

'Need to know' procurement essentials for all staff leading & supporting the delivery of projects and research involving the purchase of goods & services sourced from members of RCUK.

The course content imparts essential procurement knowledge that provides key information to facilitate the preparation of research grant applications, the planning of research delivery programmes & the management of procurement activity post grant award including how to cost the `bought-in? resources needed to deliver research contracts for grant applications, procurement short cuts to market, tender procedures - choosing the right one & when to consult with & secure tender support from Procurement Services.

The procurement procedures are not discussed in detail.
